The Open 6.50 and the Mach 6.5 are "sport boats" or "sleds", which plane just like their bigger sister the Open 7.50, but at a lower cost. They are less powerful, lighter and just as fast.

The Open 6.50 and the Mach 6.5 are built entirely in carbon, with rotating carbon wing mast, lifting carbon keel, carbon boom, rotating carbon bowsprit, twin carbon rudders, carbon tiller…

Mach 6.5

  • Sébastien Magnen design (naval architect, two time winner of the Mini-Transat)
  • Built by JPS
  • It is easily recognisable with its planing hard chined aft end.
  • Sail area: mainsail 26m2, jib 10.50 m2, spinnaker 48 m2.
The Mach 6.5 Class brings together owners of Mach 6.5 boats.

The Open 6.50 and Mach 6.5 compete at Spi Ouest France, the Grand Prix de l'Ecole Navale, the Normandy Sailing Week, Arcachon Open Mach-Race, the Atlantique le Télégramme in Lorient, the Open Mach Trophy, the Grand Prix Guyader in Douranenez.
The annual Championship is based on results at events throughout the year.

The leaders are equipped with All Purpose sails.

The Mach 6.5 Alternative Sailing skippered by Mathieu Jones supported by Julien Texier won the 2013, 2014 and 2015 editions of Spi Ouest France.
